Job 9:2 ¶ “Truly I know that it is so: But how can a man be in the right before God?
Job 9:3 If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times.

There has been many times when people question God. Why does God allow evil? Why does God allow cancer, or any other illness to take place? Why does someone so young die and yet a older person who wants to die doesn’t? These are all great questions, but it is not the question we should be asking. The question we should be asking is the one here in Job. How can a man be right before God? Another way to put it is why are you and I still alive knowing that we have sinned against a Holy God. According to Job You and I could not even contend with Him, we could not plead our case, You and I could not tell Him that our good out weighs our bad. In fact you and I could not answer Him once in a thousand times. Just ask Job when God questions him. That brings me back to initial question. How can a man be right before God?
It is impossible for man to be right before God because we are born in sin. In fact you and I are dead in our trespasses and sins. We have no spiritual life in us at all. Our hearts are wicked, and deceitful. This is why a man or you and I can not be right before God. Our good work are a filthy rags. We cannot stand on our own righteousness. We need a righteousness of another.
A man can only be right before God when he or she is in christ. Jesus is the only way we can stand rightly before God. As Christ followers you and I stand perfectly righteous before God. This is a reason for praise, a reason to worship, a reason to serve, a reason to sing. Jesus is our righteousness now. His perfect obedient life has been given to you and I.

2Cor. 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The cross of Christ is where our sin is forgiven, where Jesus is the perfect sacrifice. He dies our death, He is condemned so you and I would not be, He bears the wrath of God for our sin so that we may receive the mercy of God. Christ is raised from the grave for our justification and His glory, Showing that His sacrifice was pleasing to God. He now sits at the right hand of God interceding for you and I. Brothers and sisters we stand before God as His children completely righteous because of the person and work of Christ
Dear Christian we have the answer to how can a man be right before God? That answer is the gospel of Jesus Christ. May you and I be bold enough to share it with those who Christ puts in our path.
